"I've Swum Around This Island, #3"

From the poem "Purple Hat Island, #3"

You’ve been to this lake,  haven’t you? 
 

If I had a dollar for everyone who has said that they’d been to this lake, which they then incorrectly name as such and such, or, so and so, or, even such and so (but fortunately never so and such), and then ask me if they're right (or write), I’d be a rich man financially, (I already am a rich man spiritually and adventurually), which would allow me to quit my day job as a wilderness poet, and be able to devote all of time, energy, and lucre, to cruising around with my true love, Mother Nature! 

I didn’t try to be tricky in how I took this image, but you’d probably never guess what lake this is just from this image, as I didn’t take this image to show you the lake, rather I wanted to show you this island which is the 3rd high alpine lake island that I’ve swum around! (Swim, swam, swum!)  It was a good work out owing to the lakes 10,000’ elevation!  It wasn’t really that cold either, everything taken into consideration! 

Of course, I stopped at the far point of the island, climbed onto it, and named it, rather modestly, I'd say, Purple Hat Island , #3!   Returning to the water after oohing and ahhing my way over all of those sharp rocks that I couldn’t see as I was glassless, I continued my swim going counter clockwise, so as to be benefited in my endeavor by the Earth’s spin!  
 

Any way, that’s my story and I’m sticking to it!
